Privacy Policy
Halo is built privacy-first. Your data is yours — here's exactly how your information is handled.
Last updated June 26, 2026
We don't store your data
Halo has no backend servers that collect or retain your personal information. Your emails, calendar, reminders, health data, memories, and everything else Halo touches stay on your device. There is no account to create and nothing to sign up for.
Connections are made on-device
When you connect a service, your device talks to it directly. Your credentials and data are never routed through Halo’s servers, because there aren’t any.
AI runs through your own keys
AI requests are sent directly from your device to the model provider you configure (such as OpenAI, xAI, or Apple Intelligence) using your own API key or subscription. We never see the contents of those requests. The provider’s handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored locally on your iPhone and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced through your own private iCloud account so it’s available across your devices. This sync is between you and Apple — Halo never has access to it. You can read more in our Security overview.
Diagnostics & analytics
To keep improving the app, we may collect anonymous crash reports and aggregate usage information — for example, which features are used and where errors occur. This data:
- Never includes your private content — no emails, messages, calendar events, health data, API keys, or anything Halo reads on your behalf.
- Is used only to diagnose problems and understand which features matter, so we can make Halo better.
- Cannot be used to identify you personally.
Children's privacy
Halo is not directed to children under the age required by your region’s law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because Halo has no servers and no accounts, we do not collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated within the app.
